MATTRESSES:
You spend around a third of your life in bed, so a good mattress for a good nights sleep is important! We try to give you the best value to buy the best you can afford. A good mattress will last 10 years or more! Budget mattresses are more suited to occasional use, or where they will be replaced more frequently.
Sprung Mattresses: The most common type of mattress, with various types, each containing metal springs to provide support. As a rule, the more springs the firmer the support:
Open Coil: Traditionally the most common type of mattress, comprising open springs to provide support.
Sprung Edge: With border rod or wire to give the mattress a firm edge and help retain its shape.
Continuous Spring: Small interwoven springs for more support and less roll together.
Pocket Spring: Small individual springs housed in separate fabric pockets. Provides more independent response to individual body weight, providing support where needed and less roll together. Particularly suited where individual’s body weights vary.
Memory Foam: Either used as a top layer within a sprung mattress to provide additional support and economy or as a full memory foam mattress. Can be purchased as mattress toppers to existing mattresses. Responds to body temperature to soften and mould s and re-moulds to body contours.
Provide added support and assists in maintaining correct posture.
Latex: Similar to memory foam, either used as a top layer within a sprung mattress or as a full latex mattress. Respond to body movement and mould to body contours, quickly recovering its shape. Resilient, durable and naturally hypo – allergenic. Breathable to assist over heating.
MATTRESS FINISH:
Tufting: A traditional method of holding springs in place by tufting from the top to the bottom layers, with a button effect to give a firmer feel.
Micro Quilting: Layers of fibre with a stitch pattern.
Deep Quilting: Deeper layers of quilt for increased comfort.
Pillow Top: Additional layers of fibre for added comfort.
